- Introduction
The Family Business Center of Excellence (FAB CoE) at Pokhara University is a pioneering initiative established under the auspices of the ERASMUS+ program. This center is part of the FAB project, an Erasmus+ KA2 Capacity Building endeavor aimed at supporting family businesses. The center is dedicated to addressing the unique challenges faced by family businesses in Nepal. It functions as a hub for cooperation, innovation, and career development, offering a comprehensive training, consulting and learning environment. The center aims to integrate best practices and activities, thereby filling the academic gap and meeting the regional demand for competent and skilled family business entrepreneurs and professionals.

- Date of Establishment
The center was established on April 26th, 2024. It was inaugurated by Prof. Dayaraj Dhakal, the Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies, Pokhara University.

Mission
To develop and deliver world-class educational programs and training in Family Business Administration that equip individuals with the skills, knowledge, and resources necessary to address the unique challenges faced by family businesses. By promoting research, innovation, and international collaboration, the Center aims to support the growth and development of family-owned enterprises, contributing to the economic and social prosperity of the region.
- Activities
The center will perform the following activities:
- Offer VET (Vocational Education and Training) courses to provide practical skills and knowledge for family business management.
- Organize workshops, seminars, and conferences featuring experts in family business management to facilitate knowledge sharing and professional development.
- Provide advisory and consultancy services to family businesses to help them address specific challenges and implement effective management practices.
- Offer career development services, including internships, job placements, and career counseling, to support students and professionals in the family business sector.
- Engage with the local community and family business networks to promote the Center’s activities and support the development of family businesses.
- Implement a robust quality assurance framework to continuously improve the academic programs, training courses, and other activities of the Center.
- Host networking events to connect students, alumni, family business owners, and industry professionals for mutual learning and collaboration.
