Family Business Development Center

The Family Business Development Centre (FBDC), created as part of the FAB project, is instrumental in empowering family businesses. By promoting collaboration, innovation, and professional growth, it empowers these businesses to serve as catalysts for sustainable economic growth and societal transformation. This objective is in line with the overall aims of the FAB project and the Master’s program in Family Business Management.

 

Mission and Vision of the Centre

 

Vision:

To be a leading institution in fostering innovation, cooperation, and career development within the field of Family Business Management in Cambodia.

Mission:

To provide a comprehensive MSc. program in Family Business Administration that addresses the unique challenges faced by family businesses in Cambodia, leveraging best practices and know-how from European higher education institutions.

Objectives:

  • Educational Excellence: Develop and deliver a high-quality curriculum for the MSc. program that reflects the context and scope of family business management.
  • Research and Innovation: Establish a collaborative environment that promotes research and innovation in family business practices.
  • Professional Development: Offer vocational education and training (VET) courses and career development opportunities to enhance the skills of family business professionals.
  • Community Engagement: Create partnerships with local and international organizations to support the growth and development of family businesses in the region.

 

The Usage of the Centre for Family Business

 

The FAB Centre offers the FAB training and learning resources freely and openly for educatorsstudents, and self-learners for use, reuse, adaptation, and sharing.

The FAB Centre consists of the following three different sections:

  1. FAB Education Space: This space is designed for the academic staff, professors, lecturers, students, and family business owners to enhance their teaching and learning skills, by introducing them to modern curricula concepts, methodology guidelines, as well as ECTS/ESG application guidelines.
  2. FAB Virtual Library: A space designed for the students of the FAB Master’s programme.
  3. FAB Professionals/VET Courses (MOOCs): This space is designed for family members, owners, staff, and policy makers as well as anyone wishes to learn how to navigate and manage the family firm context.

Physical Space of the Centre

The centre is located at Building A, Room Number 216C of Royal University of Phnom Penh, main campus. The centre has equipment for students and participants doing research, group discussion, and training including computers, table, books, internet, and smartboard.
