On Saturday, December 14, 2024, the National University of Management (NUM) organized a site visit to Lyly Food Industry Co., Ltd. as a part of the FAB Center’s activities. The visit offered students from the Master’s Programme in Family Business Management a unique opportunity to gain hands-on learning experience with a successful family-owned business. The participants were honored to meet H.E. Oknha Keo Mom, a Cambodian women entrepreneur and Chairman of the Board of Directors at Lyly Food Industry Co., Ltd. Throughout the visit, students had the chance to observe the company’s food processing production systems and gain valuable insights into the inner workings of a thriving family business in Cambodia.

Founded in 2002 by H.E. Oknha Keo Mom, Lyly Food Industry Co., Ltd. produces high-quality Khmer snacks, such as rice crackers, other snacks, and milk drinks, while promoting corporate social responsibility by employing disadvantaged individuals. Under her leadership, the company has expanded from 20 employees to 250. Keo Mom’s dedication to providing healthy food, as well as her commitment to hard work, has driven the company’s growth, while her daughter, Ms. Ing Chhivly, serves as CEO, overseeing the company’s focus on international standards and profitability.

Lyly Food is a true reflection of the entrepreneurial spirit and determination of H.E. Oknha Keo Mom, who generously shared her business journey and insights with NUM students. Her experiences offered invaluable lessons on overcoming challenges, sustaining growth, transferring leadership across generations, and preserving a strong family business legacy.

This visit is part of NUM’s ongoing efforts, in collaboration with the FAB Project and supported by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, to promote education, research, and innovation in family business management. By engaging in such activities, NUM students are better equipped with the knowledge and experience needed to lead and sustain family-owned enterprises, advancing excellence in the field.
